Our Mission

Prison to Praise exists exclusively to support persons accused of a crime who, for various reasons, cannot defend themselves in their legal journey and personal restoration by:

  1. Funding Legal Defence: Raising and managing donations transparently to assist them with legal fees, representation, and related case expenses.
  2. Providing Logistical and Moral Support: Offering practical assistance and encouragement to them and their families during ongoing legal proceedings and periods of incarceration.
  3. Upholding Faith and Hope: Promoting prayer, spiritual strength, and faith-based encouragement for them and their families as they navigate the justice process.
  4. Ensuring Transparency and Accountability: Maintaining open, responsible management of all funds and support efforts dedicated to each case.
  5. Advocating for the fair treatment and humane consideration of the accused in all judicial and public processes. in their legal journey and personal restoration by:
    1. Funding Legal Defence: Raising and managing donations transparently to assist with legal fees, representation, and related case expenses.
    2. Providing Logistical and Moral Support: Offering practical assistance and encouragement to the accused and their families during ongoing legal proceedings and periods of incarceration.

    5. Preserving Dignity and Fairness: Advocating for the fair treatment and humane consideration of the accused in all judicial and public processes.

NPC Bank Account

The handling of the NPC bank account:

  1. All funds can, at this stage, be paid into the Nedbank account by way of EFT payments.
  2. In the next week or so, a Payfast link will be available to make payments easier.
  3. All funds are paid into the NPC bank account and not directly into the attorneys’ account.
  4. The attorney sends an invoice (account) directly to the management committee for approval and then for payment from the NPC bank account.
  5. Payments cannot take place unless they are released for payment by the directors – note, the directors, and not a single person at the bank! This is to ensure that the funds of any donor in the NPC bank account are safe and are paid out only after all directors approve and the funds are confirmed with the signatures of all directors.
  6. The NPC’s financial statements, as well as bank accounts, are audited by auditors to ensure that they comply with legislation and are also submitted to SARS and CIPRO annually.
